“Saying you are one doesn’t make you one”

September 21, 2015, Vancouver, British Columbia – Today the BC Health Regulators, representing  26 regulated health professions governed by 23 colleges, and over 100,000 health professionals, are pleased to announce the launch of their public awareness campaign “Saying you are one doesn’t make you one.” Following the success of last year’s “our purpose, your safety” campaign, this year’s campaign is designed to encourage British Columbians to obtain health services from licensed and regulated health care professionals.

Featuring children acting as health care professionals delivering services with potentially disastrous, and humorous results, the “Saying you are one doesn’t make you one” campaign sends a compelling message about the risks associated with obtaining services from unlicensed individuals. From dentists to practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine to opticians, regulatory colleges exist to ensure patient safety. British Columbians are encouraged to visit the BC Health Regulators website at www.bchealthregulators.ca to learn more about regulatory colleges in British Columbia, the professions that are regulated, and how they can ensure they are receiving safe and professional health services.

The campaign launches on September 21, and will be found across digital platforms and on television.  The television campaign can be found here: https://vimeopro.com/storyboxmovies/bc-health-regulators
