Notice of Proposal to Amend College of Psychologists of BC Bylaws

The board of the College of Psychologist of British Columbia (CPBC) has approved proposed amendments to CPBC’s bylaws to establish a new class of temporary (emergency) registration, to facilitate and streamline the ability of out-of-province registrants, non-practising registrants and other former practising registrants of CPBC to obtain temporary registration to provide needed services in British Columbia during the current COVID-19 crisis, or during similar emergencies that may arise in the future.

In light of the current emergency situation, the Ministry of Health has specified a shortened 5-day notice period for these proposed amendments under section 19(6.2)(a)(ii) of the Health Professions Act. Notice is hereby provided to the public, the Ministry of Health and other interested stakeholders of the amendments as described in the Schedule of Amendments and Blackline.

The proposed amendments will be posted for 5 days (until April 20, 2020) to provide time for comments. All comments are considered by both the College and the Ministry of Health. If you prefer, you may provide comments directly to the Ministry of Health. Please see contact information below.
