BC’s health regulatory colleges have received confirmation from the Provincial Health Officer (PHO) of their imminent plan to issue a new public health order requiring ALL regulated health professionals, and the staff in their offices or businesses, to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The Minister of Health has also stated that he will direct BC’s health profession regulators to make vaccination against COVID-19 a licensing requirement for every regulated health professional practising in the province.

A reminder that regulatory colleges are established by the Health Professions Act to ensure that British Columbians receive qualified, safe and ethical care from regulated health professionals. The science continues to overwhelmingly endorse reliance upon vaccination against COVID-19 as the best available option.

The College will provide registrants with additional information as it becomes available, including the PHO’s order, the Minister’s directive and the timeline for implementation.
