Information for the Public

As the regulatory body for the profession of psychology, the College of Psychologists of BC provides several informational services to the public.

You can find out about professional self-regulation and the professional standards you can expect when you engage with a psychologist in the practice of psychology section and FAQs section.

In the online directory you will find information about College registrants, including contact information and registration status.

You will also find information about what to do if you have questions, concerns or complaints about the practice of a registrant in our complaints section. You can also find notifications of any undertakings, citations or decisions about a registrant in our public notifications section.

The College does not offer a psychologist referral service. The BC Psychological Association offers a referral service in BC at (604) 730-0522 or 1 (800) 730-0522), and some psychologists choose to belong to this service. The Canadian Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology (CRHSPP) also has a referral list. For further information on finding a psychologist, contact your family physician or visit our directory to find a registrant in your area.
