Business Names

The College of Psychologists of British Columbia does not regulate psychology corporations under Part 4 of the Health Professions Act, as government has not enacted a regulation for the profession of psychology under s. 41. However, the College does specify requirements for naming psychology companies when the company name contains a title restricted under the Psychologists Regulation.

The College recommends that registrants carefully review Code section 10.19 “Use of restricted title in company or business name” prior to submitting a request for approval of a company name. Registrants should also wait until they receive consent from the College for using the restricted title prior to preparing a website or other advertising materials that will include the company name.
